Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability of an inadequate resistance to
lateral loads or gravity loads imposed by the glass block's own weight, which
could lead to cracking at vertically aligned mortar joints. Where
masonry construction is required to provide fire resistance, this is to limit
the probability of compromised fire resistance of the assembly, which could
lead to harm to persons.
