Application 1: 
Sheathing, installed in lieu of a sheathing membrane, in cladding assemblies to which Subsection 9.27.3. applies [see Article 9.27.1.1. for application of Subsection 9.27.3.] that are on:
  • exterior and gable-end walls where cladding does not require intermediate fastening between supports, or solid backing, and
  • exterior walls where the walls are braced, finished on the interior with plaster, gypsum board, plywood, hardboard, insulating fibreboard, particleboard, OSB, waferboard or tile according to Section 9.29., or clad in panel-type cladding.
This applies to walls of wood-frame construction to which Section 9.23. applies [see Sentence 9.23.1.1.(1) for application of Section 9.23.],
