Application | Application 1: Coverage of thermal insulation in walls, ceilings,
roofs and floors separating heated space from unheated space, in buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application

Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability of a significant variance in the
insulating value, which could lead to excessive heat loss through portions
of the building envelope, which could lead to excessively low temperatures
of interior surfaces or within assemblies. This is to
limit the probability of condensation, which could lead to deterioration,
which could lead to compromised structural integrity of assemblies acting
as environmental separators, which could lead to harm to persons.
