Application
Application 1: 
Design, construction and installation of heating systems, including ducting, and mechanical heating equipment serving only one dwelling unit, for buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].
Application 2: 
This also applies to:
  • the sizing of single or multiple exhaust ducts serving principal exhaust fans, as stated in Sentence 9.32.3.4.(8), and
  • the sizing of exhaust ducts serving required kitchen, bathroom, water-closet room and other supplemental exhaust fans, as stated in Sentence 9.32.3.5.(5).

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that the performance of heating equipment, with respect to maintaining the minimum indoor air temperatures [see Sentence 9.33.3.1.(1)], will fall significantly below expectations, which could lead to condensation, which could lead to deterioration, which could lead to compromised structural integrity, which could lead to harm to persons.
