Application 1: 
Safety cut-off for electrostatic-type filters for air duct distribution systems serving heating systems in which the rated heat input does not exceed 120 kW and serving only one dwelling unit, in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].
Application 2: 
This also applies to ventilation ducts and their fittings, as stated in Sentence 9.32.3.11.(1).

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that electrostatic filters will remain energized while being inspected or removed, which could lead to persons being exposed to electric shock, which could lead to harm to persons.
