Application
Application 1:
Dynamic approaches for determining wind effects on the building structure, for the design of buildings with an aspect ratio greater than 4, or whose height is greater than 120 m, or whose properties make them susceptible to vibration.
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A and to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9] that are required to be designed in accordance with the requirements of Part 4.

Intent
Intent 1:
To limit the probability that the calculation of wind effects on the building structure will not take into account how the properties of the building structure affect dynamic amplification, which could lead to the excessive vibration or excessive deflection of the building structure, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.
Intent 2:
To limit the probability of the implementation of unacceptable design methodologies for the calculation of dynamic amplification due to wind, which could lead to the excessive vibration or excessive deflection of the building structure, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.
