Design of buildings and their structural members made of plain and reinforced masonry.
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A and buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A] that are required to be designed to the requirements of Part 4.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that the detailed design of plain and reinforced masonry components and systems is not carried out in accordance with a suitable comprehensive standard in harmony with the detailed requirements of Part 4, which could lead to excessive deflection or excessive vibration of structural members, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.
