Application | Application 1: Uniformity of rise in any one flight of interior and
exterior stairs, including exit stairs, for buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].
Exceptions:
except as stated in Sentence 9.8.4.1.(2), which applies to
the top or bottom riser in a stair adjoining a sloping finished walking surface,
such as a garage floor, driveway or sidewalk.
Application 2: This also applies to stairs within a dwelling
unit in buildings to which Part 3 applies
[see Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A for application of Part 3], as
