Semi-rigid fibre insulation board produced from glass, rock or slag and used for the construction of fire stops in double-frame wall assemblies at the intersection of the floor assembly and the walls, in buildings permitted to be of combustible construction and to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that fire stopping material used to block and separate concealed spaces will not remain in place for a certain minimum amount of time under fire conditions, which could lead to the spread of fire within these spaces, which could lead to harm to persons.
