Intent
Intent 1:
To limit the probability that the performance of polyethylene used as a soil gas barrier will fall significantly below expectations with respect to:
  • air transfer resistance, or
  • strength, flexibility, and resistance to tearing, puncturing, oxidation or ultraviolet radiation, which could lead to damage during installation, which could lead to an inadequate resistance to the infiltration of soil gas, which could lead to negative effects on the air quality of indoor spaces.
This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
