Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability that such concrete blocks will
be of inadequate mass or absorb excessive amounts of water, which could lead
to inadequate resistance to freeze-thaw stresses. For
chimneys and fireplaces, this is to limit the probability of excessive heat
transfer, which could lead to the ignition of combustible building components,
which could lead to damage to the building.
