Intent
Intent 1:
To limit the probability of inadequate stiffness or strength, which could lead to excessive deflection or the structural failure of sheet metal roofing under expected gravity loads.
This is to limit the probability of:
  • the structural failure of the roofing, or
  • precipitation or meltwater ingress, which could lead to the deterioration of roofs or assemblies protected by roofs, which could lead to compromised structural integrity.
This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
