Application
Application 1: 
Light constructions, in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9], where:
  • wall, floor and roof systems comprise lumber frames of small repetitive structural members or other engineered systems, and where
    • roof and wall planes are not clad, sheathed or braced on at least one side,
    • the small repetitive structural members are spaced more than 600 mm o.c.,
    • constructions resist horizontal loads imposed by soil,
    • the specified live load on supported subfloors and floor framing exceeds 2.4 kPa, or
    • the span of any structural member exceeds 12.20 m, and
  • wall, floor and roof systems are not made of lumber frames or other engineered systems of small repetitive structural members.

To expand the application of Part 4 to include wood-frame constructions that are beyond the application of Section 9.23.
