Application
Application 1: 
Maintenance and access to private hydrants, fire department connections and private valves controlling water supplies to fire protection systems, at outdoor storage sites.
This applies to the short- or long-term outdoor storage of the following products, whether raw or waste materials, goods in process or finished goods:
  • Class III and IV commodities, and Group A, B and C plastics, as described in Section 3.2.,
  • rubber tires,
  • forest products, including lumber, timber and wood pallets,
  • forest by-products, including wood chips and hogged material,
  • manufactured buildings,
  • wrecked vehicles in salvage yards, and
  • dangerous goods in packages or containers stored in a single individual storage area in quantities greater than those shown in Table 3.2.7.1., as stated in Sentences 3.3.4.1.(1) and (2).
Exceptions: 
except as exempted in:
  • Sentence 3.1.1.4.(1), which applies to:
    • the storage and dispensing of Class 2.1 flammable gases at fuel dispensing stations, and
    • facilities operated by manufacturers or distributors [handling or storing more than 1 500 kg, as stated in Appendix A] of Class 2 gases, and
  • Sentence 3.3.1.1.(2), which applies to:
    • sites where the total storage area is not more than 100 m2, except for distance requirements between stored products and a building, and Class 2 gases covered in Subsection 3.3.5.,
    • Class I and II commodities, as classified in Section 3.2.,
    • intermodal shipping containers, except when containing dangerous goods,
    • buried products and landfill operations,
    • products stored on the roof of a building,
    • vehicles in parking areas or parking lots,
    • logs and similar untreated forest products in ranked piles, or
    • bulk products, except as described in Clause 3.3.1.1.(1)(d).
