Application | Application 1: Storage of cylinders of Class 2.1 flammable, lighter-than-air
gases outside of rooms described in Sentence 3.2.8.2.(1), in sprinklered buildings or in buildings of noncombustible construction, where the aggregate capacity
of expanded gas in a single fire compartment outside
of the room is not more than 170 m3.
This applies to buildings or parts of buildings used for the short- or long-term storage of
cylinders of Class 2.1 flammable gases when stored in single fire
compartments in quantities greater than those shown in Table 3.2.7.1.,
whether raw or waste materials, goods in process, or finished goods.

Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirement in Sentence 3.2.8.2.(1),
which would otherwise require that Class 2.1 flammable, lighter-than-air gases
be stored in a dedicated room, and allow their storage in the open, if the
