Application
Application 1: 
System for alerting site personnel of a fire, in buildings or parts of buildings undergoing construction, alteration or demolition, including any incomplete or abandoned buildings.
Exceptions: 
except as stated in Sentence 5.6.1.1.(2), which applies to construction or demolition activities involving buildings that:
  • do not pose an exposure hazard to other buildings, or
  • pose a minimal fire hazard to occupants.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that persons will not be promptly notified of a fire situation, which could lead to persons being delayed in evacuating or in moving to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons.
