Intent 1:

To exempt steps in aisles in bleachers of the telescopic type from the requirements of Sentences 3.3.2.5.(11) à (14), which apply to aisle steps in assembly occupancies in general, if certain measures are taken.

This is to limit the probability of:

• excessively high risers, and
• excessively narrow step treads.

This is to limit the probability of:

• delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place in an emergency situation, which could lead to harm to persons, and
• persons tripping or falling, which could lead to harm to persons.
