Intent 1:

To limit the probability that the design, construction and maintenance of new parking structures for durability are not carried out in accordance with a suitable comprehensive standard in harmony with the detailed requirements of Part 4, which could lead to:

• deterioration of structural components, which could lead to damage to the building, and
• deterioration and damage of structural members, which could impede the intended use and occupancy of the building.
