Intent 1:
To limit the probability that an inappropriate location
or installation of fans will lead to:
- zones of depressurization in the building, which could
lead to the spillage of combustion products from fuel-fired appliances,
and
- the distribution of contaminants that might be present
in boiler or furnace rooms by entraining them in the air being circulated
in ductwork serving the building.
This is to limit the probability of
negative effects on the air quality of indoor spaces, which could
lead to harm to persons.
