Objective

OH4 Vibration and Deflection Limitation

Attribution

Intent

Intent 1:

To limit the probability that the calculation of net wind pressure on a building surface will not take into account how external and internal pressures or suctions on building surfaces act to produce forces in structural elements, which could lead to the excessive vibration or excessive deflection of structural elements, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.

Intent 2:

To limit the probability that the calculation of specified wind pressures or suctions on interior surfaces of buildings will not take into account all the factors that affect the expected maximum magnitude and distribution of wind pressures or suctions on interior surfaces of buildings, which could lead to the excessive vibration and excessive deflection of structural elements, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.

Intent 3:

To limit the probability that the calculation of wind load used for the design of the building structure for vibration will not take into account the level of reliability appropriate for vibration serviceability, which could lead to the excessive vibration of the building, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.
