Intent 1:
To limit the probability that the lateral force,
Vp, used in the design of access floors and their connections
will not include:
- both the weight of the access floor and the permanent
equipment attached to it, and
- a load allowance for permanent equipment that allows
for future modifications to the equipment installation.
This is to limit the probability of:
- components of the building falling or sliding, which
could lead to damage to the building, or
- damage to and functional failure of a component's system,
which could impede the intended use and occupancy of the building.
