Intent 1:

To limit the probability that inappropriate procedures will be used for the structural design of environmental separators, which could lead to an inadequate resistance to expected structural loads on required environmental separation elements, which could lead to:

• vibration and deflection, or
• damage and deterioration.

This is to limit the probability of structural failure, which could lead to harm to persons.
