To limit the probability that the dead load due to saturated soil, superimposed earth, plants and trees when acting as the principal load without companion loads will not be taken into account in the structural design, with respect to how these loads impact on the total load, which could lead to the excessive deformation of, or excessive stress in, structural components, which could lead to damage to the building.
