To supersede the application of Sentence 3.3.3.3.(1) and permit dead-end corridors of a certain configuration and up to a certain length on the basis that additional safety measures are required in this type of occupancy. This is to limit the probability that persons, patients or residents will become delayed or trapped in a dead-end portion of a corridor in an emergency situation, which could lead to delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons.
