To modify the application of Sentence 9.23.13.5.(1) and allow one exterior wall of the uppermost storey in each orthogonal direction to be set back from the exterior wall of the storey below where the roof or floor supporting an exterior uppermost storey wall that is set back is constructed to transfer the lateral loads by diaphragm action.
