To limit the probability that a sprinkler system will not suppress or control a fire involving the stored products, which could lead to the spread of fire to other parts of the building, which could lead to damage to the building.
To clarify that, if the sprinkler system does not meet certain standards, the storage of products shall conform to the limits for unsprinklered buildings specified in Table 3.2.5.4.
