Application
Application 1: 
Location of an occupancy in a public corridor with regard to maintaining a minimum unobstructed width adjacent and parallel to all rooms and suites that front onto the public corridor, where the public corridor conforms to Clause 3.4.2.5.(1)(d).
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that public corridors will be of an insufficient width to permit efficient egress in an emergency situation, which could lead to delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons.
Intent 2: 
To limit the probability of an insufficient corridor width during an emergency situation, which could lead to delays or inefficiencies in emergency response operations, which could lead to delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons.
