Intent | Intent 1: To waive the requirement for a fire separation between a
dwelling unit and an attached garage as stated in Sentence 3.3.5.6.(1) on
the basis that sufficient conditions are in place to minimize the threat posed
by exposure to gas and vehicle exhaust fumes to the occupants to the dwelling
unit, or to the occupants in other dwelling units. This
is to limit the probability that gas and fumes will migrate from the garage
into the dwelling unit, which could lead to their accumulation to levels that
pose a risk to human health from short-term exposure, which could lead to
harm to persons.
