Application | Application 1: Combustibility of construction materials for linen
chutes and refuse chutes, and combustibility of services in shafts surrounding
the chutes, in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A. Application 2: This also applies to chutes and shafts in buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9], as stated in Sentence 9.10.1.2.(7), except where the chute
or shaft is entirely contained within a dwelling unit.

lead to the spread of fire to other parts of the building, which could lead
