Application | Application 1: Separations between a repair
garage and ancillary spaces directly serving repair
garages, including waiting rooms, reception rooms, tool and parts storage
areas and supervisory office space, where the ancillary spaces are separated
from other occupancies as required in Sentence 9.10.9.17.(1).
This applies to buildings to which Part
9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of
Part 9].

Intent | Intent 1: To clarify that ancillary spaces directly serving a repair
garage may be considered part of the repair garage, and not as another occupancy,
for purposes of determining the need for fire separation in Sentence 9.10.9.17.(1).
Intent 2: To exempt ancillary spaces directly serving a repair garage
from the requirement for a fire separation between such spaces and the repair
garage in Sentence 9.10.9.17.(1). |
