Application | Application 1: Minimum fire-resistance rating of fire separations that separate floor assemblies separating
the first storey and the second storey in dwelling units in construction camp buildings.
This applies to construction camps to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt floor assemblies within dwelling units from the
requirement in the latter part of Sentence 9.10.21.3.(1) for a minimum 30
min rated separation, on the basis that the dwelling units' rooms are
equipped with smoke alarms and have a small occupant load, which should enable
persons to quickly escape in the early stages of a fire. |
