Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability of using inappropriate flashing
materials or installing an inadequate thickness of flashing, which could lead
to premature failure of flashing upon exposure to moisture, sunlight, temperature
extremes or mechanical stresses. Where masonry construction
is required to provide fire resistance, this is to limit the probability of
deterioration, which could lead to compromised fire resistance of the assembly,
which could lead to harm to persons.
