ObjectiveOS1 Fire Safety
Attribution
[F80-OS1.2] Applies where structural wood elements support or are used in assemblies that are required to provide fire resistance.
Application
Application 1: 
Pressure treatment of structural wood elements with a preservative, where the structural wood elements are:
  • less than 150 mm above ground, or
  • not protected from exposure to precipitation, where the configuration is conducive to moisture accumulation and the moisture index is greater that 1.0.
This applies to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability of wood decay.
Where structural wood elements support or are used in assemblies that are required to provide fire resistance, this is to limit the probability of the compromised fire resistance of the assembly, which could lead to harm to persons.
