Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability that the performance of cement
and aggregate under expected structural and environmental loads will fall
significantly below expectations, which could lead to cracking at mortar joints
and inadequate bonding to masonry units. Where assemblies
are required to provide fire resistance, this is to limit the probability
of compromised fire resistance of the assembly, which could lead to harm to
persons.
