Application 1: 
Chimney flues serving solid-fuel-burning appliances having a combined total rated heat output of 120 kW or less, where rectangular masonry or concrete chimneys are not more than 12 m in height, in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].
Application 2: 
This also applies to chimney flues serving solid-fuel-burning appliances having a combined total rated heat output of 120 kW or less, where rectangular masonry or concrete chimneys are not more than 12 m in height, in buildings to which Part 6 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A for application of Part 6], as stated in Sentence 6.3.1.2.(1).
Exceptions: 
except for the installation of appliances where an adequate draft is maintained for each appliance and the installation of both appliances meets the requirements of the relevant standards referenced in Article 9.33.5.2.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that combustion products will spill from one or more appliances into living space, which could lead to the acute poisoning or asphyxiation of persons.
