Intent 1:
To exempt corridor separations from the application
of Sentence 3.3.2.6.(1) by waiving the requirement for a fire-resistance
rating on the basis that the floor area is sprinklered throughout.
This is to limit the probability that a fire will not be
controlled or suppressed, which could lead to:
- the spread of fire into the corridor, or from the corridor
to another part of the building, which could lead to damage to the
building, and
- fire emergency response operations being delayed or
ineffective, which could lead to the spread of fire to other parts
of the building, which could lead to damage to the building.
