To exempt a standpipe system from the pressure requirements of the standard referenced in Sentence 3.2.5.9.(1) with respect to the need to install a fire pump in a fully sprinklered building solely to develop the pressure requirements of the standpipe system, if there is sufficient water pressure and quantity from the municipal water connection to satisfy the sprinkler system demand. This is to limit the probability that a fire will not be suppressed or controlled, which could lead to the spread of fire, which could lead to harm to persons.
