Sentence 3.6.3.1.(5)

Intent 1:

To supersede the requirements of Subsections 3.1.8., 3.1.9. and 3.2.8., which would otherwise permit openings in fire separations of vertical service space enclosures, and limit the openings to only certain penetrations, on the basis of maintaining the integrity of the enclosures.

Intent 2:

To limit the probability that fire will spread from one storey to another storey by means of a vertical service space, which could lead to damage to the building.
