Intent 1:
To limit the probability that the design of foundations
on, in or near sloping ground will not take into account the likelihood
of slope movements, which could lead to:
- excessive soil forces or displacement of the foundation,
which could lead to damage to the building, and
- excessive displacement of the foundation, which could
lead to excessive distortion of the building, which could impede the
intended use and occupancy of the building.
