OP4 Protection of Adjacent Buildings from Structural Damage

Intent

Intent 1:

To limit the probability that, during construction, the sides of an excavation will not be supported in accordance with the structural design requirements of Part 4, which could lead to excessive displacement of ground, which could lead to damage to adjacent buildings.

Intent 2:

To direct Code users to the requirements of Articles 4.2.5.1. and 4.2.5.2. with respect to design and construction of excavation supports.
