Sentence 4.2.6.3.(1)

Intent 1:

To limit the probability that a shallow foundation unit will not be located in accordance with the assumptions used for the design of the foundation system, which could lead to excessive displacement of the foundation unit, which could lead to:

• damage to the building, and
• excessive distortion of the building, which could impede the use and occupancy of the building.

Intent 2:

To direct Code users to the requirement of Article 2.2.4.7. of Division C with respect to the recording of alterations on the design drawings.
