To limit the probability of discontinuity and inadequate
structural support and protection for water-resistant materials, which
could lead to:
- the ingress of moisture from the ground, including water
that is under hydrostatic pressure, or
- compromised thermal performance of components intended
to provide resistance to heat transfer.
This is to limit the probability of:
- an inadequate control of the temperature of interior
spaces, relative humidity, or water ingress and accumulation, or
- deterioration, which could lead to compromised integrity
of floors-on-ground or of elements protected by the floors-on-ground.
This is to limit the probability of:
- the inadequate thermal comfort of persons, and
- contact with moisture.
This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
