Intent 1:

To limit the probability of an inadequate resistance to forces exerted by the warping of rated doors under fire loads, which could lead to:

• the opening of such doors, or
• the opening of gaps between such doors and their frames.

This is to limit the probability of compromised fire resistance of the assembly, which could lead to harm to persons.
