Intent 1:
To limit the probability of:
- performance that falls significantly below expectations,
which could lead to an inability to resist expected mechanical and
environmental loads, which could lead to premature failure, or
- where panel-type siding is installed as bracing to satisfy Subclause 9.23.13.1.(2)(a)(i) and Clause 9.23.13.6.(1)(a), an inability
to resist lateral and impact loads, which could lead to excessive
deformation or buckling, which could lead to racking of exterior walls.
This is to limit the probability of
precipitation or meltwater ingress, which could lead to deterioration,
which could lead to the structural failure of exterior walls or elements
protected by exterior walls, which could lead to harm to persons.
