Intent

Intent 1:

To limit the probability that fire will spread from one fire compartment to another fire compartment through openings in a fire separation, which could lead to damage to the other fire compartment.

Intent 2:

To expand the application of Articles 3.1.8.4. and 3.1.8.10. to Part 9 buildings.
