To limit the probability that because of the absence
of a solid riser
- persons wearing leg braces or prosthetic devices will
not be able to guide their foot up over the riser to the next step
and
- persons using canes or crutches will not be able to
place them against the riser to maintain balance,
which could lead to inefficient movement in an emergency
situation, which could lead to delays in the evacuation or movement
of persons to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons.
Intent 2:
To limit the probability that because of the absence
of a solid riser
- persons wearing leg braces or prosthetic devices will
not able to guide their foot up over the riser to the next step and
- persons using canes or crutches will not be able to
place them against the riser to maintain balance,
which could lead to persons falling, which could lead to
harm to persons.
