Intent 1:
To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.2.4.11.(5), and allow the installation of fire detectors instead
of smoke detectors when certain conditions are met.
This is to limit the probability of:
- unnecessary evacuation in response to a false or unwanted
alarm, which could lead to harm to persons, and
- inappropriate actions being taken by designated persons
[staff], which could lead to delays in evacuation or moving to a safe
place, which could lead to harm to persons.
