Sentence 9.27.13.3.(1)

Intent 1:

To limit the probability of the inadequate design and installation of the EIFS, which could lead to the failure of the EIFS components, which could lead to the EIFS having inadequate strength to resist impact or other lateral loads, which could lead to the excessive deformation or cracking of the EIFS.

This is to limit the probability of:

• precipitation or meltwater ingress, which could lead to deterioration, which could lead to the structural failure of exterior walls or elements protected by exterior walls, or
• EIFS detaching and falling from the building.

This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
