Intent 1:

To limit the probability that heating and air-conditioning equipment will be installed in locations with conditions for which it was not designed, which could lead to:

• the equipment operating inefficiently, and
• excessive thermal transfer through system components.

This is to limit the probability of excessive use of energy for heating and cooling, which could lead to an unacceptable effect on the environment.
