To limit the probability that the design of the building and the connection between adjacent structures will not take into account the interaction of adjacent structural systems during earthquake, which could lead to the structural failure of the connection, which could lead to the impact of adjacent structures, which could lead to:

• damage to the building, or
• damage to the building, which could impede the intended use and occupancy of the building.
